The River Philip Foundation makes investments within the following areas:
Community Infrastructure
The River Philip Foundation will invest in community infrastructure projects in cases where the facility supports community based social and economic goals which benefit its residents.
Education
The River Philip Foundation is interested in supporting college and university education as well as adult education and enrichment programs for children.
Initiatives to Address Poverty
The River Philip Foundation aims to invest in programs and services which offer opportunities for those living in poverty to achieve self-sufficiency. This would include supporting programs to address basic needs, for example, housing, access to transportation, and food supply.
Medical Research
The River Philip Foundation has made a multi-year commitment to fund transformative medical research at universities and medical schools in Canada.
Performing and Visual Arts
The River Philip Foundation believes it is important to enrich Canadian culture and historical heritage by contributing to art and cultural institutions and programs including museums, art galleries, performing arts, and the preservation of significant Canadian history.
Youth at Risk
One of the River Philip Foundation’s primary concentrations is supporting programs and initiatives which help resolve issues related to at risk youth.
Funding Restrictions
The Foundation only makes grants to qualified donees under the Income Tax Act of Canada. The foundations does not fund indirect expenses or general administrative overhead costs.
